Nevzat Akoral graduated from the Drawing and Craft Department of Gazi Teacher Training Institute. Following graduation, he worked as a drawing teacher in various teacher training schools and high schools. In 1962, he won a scholarship and traveled to the United States, where he studied graphic arts at Indiana University. After returning to Türkiye, he taught graphic arts at his alma mater, Gazi Teacher Training Institute, and retired in 1976.

In the early stages of his career, Akoral worked with original printmaking techniques such as linoleum and woodcut. From the 1970s onward, he turned to oil painting. His subjects typically revolve around rural life, nature, and animals of Anatolia. Village life, vegetation, birds, goats, and cattle are recurring themes in his work. In the 1970s, Ankara’s informal settlements also became subjects of his artworks. Scenes from daily life, individuals playing chess, or people waiting in hospital corridors are among other themes he explored. Akoral adopted a methodical approach that regularly employed plastic elements such as line, stain, color, and pattern.
Nevzat Akoral’s works are held in various public collections, including the Ankara State Museum of Painting and Sculpture and the İzmir Museum of Painting and Sculpture. His artworks have also been exhibited in numerous catalogued and uncatalogued exhibitions. Some of his works in the Ankara Museum of Painting and Sculpture include:
