Church of Saint Constantine and Helena

The Church of Saint Constantine and Elena is a 19th-century Bulgarian Orthodox religious structure located in Edirne. Built in 1869 the church currently serves both religious worship and various cultural events under the framework of faith tourism.^【1】

The construction of the Church of Saint Constantine and Elena Bulgarian Orthodox Church was completed in 1869. Following necessary restoration works the building was reopened for visitation and use in 2008.^【2】

The church is located at Abdurrahman Neighborhood Çağlar Street Number 14 in the city center of Edirne. Some sources also list its location as Kirişhane Neighborhood. The structure is accessible via urban transportation and is one of two churches in Edirne that remain open for worship.^【3】

The building is categorized under faith tourism and is listed among tourist sites in the inventories of the Edirne Governorship and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.^【4】

Previously the church hosted celebrations for the Feast of Saint Constantine and Elena. Christian visitors from Bulgaria and Greece participated in these events. The celebration program included a morning service inside the church with hymns and prayers. The second phase of the ceremony took place in the churchyard where the Greek Orthodox Metropolitan and accompanying clergy distributed blessed bread to attendees.^【5】
