Persian Grammar (Book)

Persian Grammar is a linguistic study authored by Nimet Yıldırım. Published in February 2024 as part of Dergâh Yayınları’s Persian Literature series, the work aims to present a comprehensive and systematic grammar overview.

The book is organized into four main sections:

1. Persian Alphabet and Sounds – The Persian script system, phonological units, and orthographic conventions are introduced.
2. Parts of Speech – Linguistic categories such as noun, verb, adjective, pronoun, adverb, preposition, and conjunction are defined; each is accompanied by a definition, rule, and example sentences with Turkish translations.

4. Differences Between Classical and Modern Persian – Structural and usage differences between classical and modern Persian, particularly in verb conjugations, are explained with examples.

Yıldırım presents grammatical rules in a clear and pedagogical manner. Example sentences are provided in both Persian and Turkish, with pronunciation guidance. Differences between classical and modern Persian are concretely illustrated through examples. The entire text is written from an academic linguistic perspective.
