Ohtamış Falls

Ohtamış Waterfall is a natural water formation located within the boundaries of Ohtamış Village, Ulubey District, in Ordu Province, in Türkiye’s Black Sea Region. The waterfall is approximately 38 kilometers from the city center of Ordu and about 20 kilometers from the district center of Ulubey.

Ohtamış Waterfall is situated on Ohtamış Creek and is a single-step waterfall that drops from a height of approximately 30 meters at a 90-degree angle. The vertically flowing water creates a striking vertical flow profile along the slope. Due to the gradient of the creek bed and its rocky structure, the waterfall maintains a continuous descent. Water flow varies throughout the year, with a significant increase during the spring months due to snowmelt.

The waterfall is surrounded by a forested area with dense vegetation. Various tree species and occasional rocky outcrops are prominent within this vegetation. The region’s topography is sloped, and natural erosion patterns shaped by water flow are clearly observable. The area around the waterfall is regarded as one of the well-preserved examples of the region’s natural landscape.

Ohtamış Waterfall is particularly popular among visitors from neighboring provinces and districts, especially during the summer months. The area accommodates daily recreational activities such as picnicking and walking. Although well known to the local population, there are no permanent structures in the vicinity of the waterfall.
