Sarsılmaz

Sarsılmaz has become one of Türkiye’s leading and innovative brands in the defense industry, with a heritage approaching 150 years. Founded in 1880 in Elazığ, the company continued its growth journey in Istanbul in 1956, establishing one of Europe’s largest integrated weapons production facilities.

Sarsılmaz offers a wide range of products spanning from sporting pistols to military firearms. The company sustains its growth by prioritizing quality through innovative manufacturing processes, placing customer satisfaction at the core of its corporate structure, and guiding future R&D efforts with inventive designs.

Sarsılmaz exports to more than 80 countries, and its products are preferred by civilian users, security organizations, and armed forces alike.

Sarsılmaz offers a product portfolio of over 300 items tailored to diverse needs. Among these, SAR9, MPT 76 SH, SAR 127 MT, and others stand out.

Developed under Türkiye’s Indigenous Pistol Project, the SAR9 is engineered to deliver reliable performance even under the harshest conditions. Distinctive among its competitors for its lightweight design and ergonomic shape, the SAR9 enhances durability with a high-quality polymer frame. Chambered in 9 mm, it features interchangeable grip panels and backstraps in S, M, and L sizes to accommodate different hand types. Additionally, the accessory rail on the frame allows users to customize the weapon with various attachments. Equipped with a firing pin and trigger safety, the SAR9 combines security and comfort in a single design.

Developed entirely with national resources by Sarsılmaz for the Turkish Armed Forces as their modern infantry rifle, the MPT 76 SH has been optimized to reduce weight by 470 grams without compromising performance criteria. Chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition, the MPT 76 SH features a 20-round magazine, a rate of fire of 700 rounds per minute, a muzzle velocity of 800 meters per second, and an effective range of 600 meters. Its modular rail system enables operators to mount a wide variety of accessories, offering extensive customization options.

Drawing on experience gained from the SAR 223 and MPT 76 SH rifles, the SAR 56 is an infantry rifle shaped by battlefield feedback. It delivers high performance through a short-stroke gas piston system and 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition. The rifle provides comfortable handling with a five-position adjustable stock featuring a cheek rest. It can be safely engaged even when not fully assembled, and includes a dual-side safety selector for tactical use, a polymer dust cover, an ergonomic sling attachment ring, and a magazine with round counter. The SAR 56 is available in three barrel lengths—7.5”, 11”, and 14.5”—making it suitable for a broad range of missions from close-quarters combat to long-range engagements.

Developed using Türkiye’s indigenous and national capabilities to provide powerful fire support in combat environments, the SAR 127 MT is capable of both fully automatic and single-shot firing. This weapon can be easily integrated into remote-controlled systems or fixed emplacements, and supports ammunition feeding from either the right or left side. With a weight of approximately 38 kg, the SAR 127 MT has an effective range of 1,830 meters and a maximum range of 6,764 meters. Its quick-change barrel (QCB) feature ensures uninterrupted combat operations in scenarios requiring sustained fire support.

The SAR 127 MT Air variant, designed by Sarsılmaz for integration onto aerial platforms, provides powerful air-to-ground fire support with a maximum range of 7 km and an effective range of 1.8 km. Chambered in 12.7x99 mm NATO ammunition, the SAR 127 MT Air is mounted on the Hürkuş-C aircraft via a specialized pod developed by TR Mekatronik, a joint venture between Sarsılmaz and TUSAŞ. Compared to the ground variant, the air version features lighter internal components and a fixed barrel structure, enabling a higher rate of fire between 900 and 1,250 rounds per minute. It has been optimized with a muzzle velocity of 890 m/s, an overall length of 1,610 mm, a barrel length of 915 mm, a height of 160 mm, and a weight of 33 kg.
