Necip Uysal was born on 24 January 1991 in Istanbul. He is 1.80 metres tall and weighs 72 kilograms. His position is recorded as midfielder in club records【1】. During various phases of his career he also took on responsibilities closer to the defensive line, with his on-field role adapting according to seasonal needs.
Necip Uysal’s football journey began at Bayrampaşa Yeniyolspor, encouraged by his older brother. This early phase marked the first step toward his transition into a structured youth academy system.
Beşiktaş integrated him into its “özkaynak” system when he was just 12 years old. Through this transition, he developed within the club’s youth structure and became one of the players nurtured entirely from Beşiktaş’s own talent pool.
He was first included in the senior team in 2008 during the tenure of head coach Ertuğrul Sağlam. His path to the first team evolved through subsequent changes in technical management.
Following the appointment of Mustafa Denizli as head coach, he was sent to the PAF (Prospective Professional Players) team. This period represented a reorganization of his position within the senior squad planning.
He made his first official appearance in a Beşiktaş shirt on 24 October 2009. He came on as a substitute for Nihat Kahveci in the 89th minute during an away match against Eskişehirspor in the Süper Lig, as Beşiktaş won the match 1–0.
Necip Uysal spent 22 years at the club. Over the course of his Beşiktaş career, he made 466 appearances across all competitions. This total reflects his long-term commitment to the club and his varying levels of involvement across different seasons.
While primarily a midfielder, he also played as a centre-back, right-back and left-back for Beşiktaş. This versatility across defensive positions was shaped according to the tactical needs of different coaching eras.
In his 466 appearances, he scored six goals. His goal output reflects a role primarily defined by positional flexibility rather than offensive production.
He made a total of 76 appearances for Beşiktaş in European competitions, including qualifying rounds.
Of these 76 matches, 56 were in the UEFA Europa League, 13 in the UEFA Champions League, and 7 in the UEFA Conference League. This distribution aligns with Beşiktaş’s participation in different European tournaments across various periods.

During his Beşiktaş career, he worked under 18 different head coaches. These include Ertuğrul Sağlam, Mustafa Denizli, Bernd Schuster, Tayfur Havutçu, Carlos Carvalhal, Samet Aybaba, Slaven Bilic, Şenol Güneş, Abdullah Avcı, Sergen Yalçın, Önder Karaveli, Valerien Ismael, Burak Yılmaz, Rıza Çalımbay, Serdar Topraktepe, Fernando Santos, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He had a second stint with Sergen Yalçın.
He played under six different presidents at Beşiktaş. These are Yıldırım Demirören, Fikret Orman, Ahmet Nur Çebi, Hasan Arat, Hüseyin Yücel and Serdal Adalı.
At the start of the 2024–2025 season, he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during training. After surgery, he was unable to play for eight months. This injury directly affected his match minutes in the following period.
In the two seasons following his recovery, he played a total of 6 matches, accumulating 146 minutes on the pitch. This data indicates a limited match load during his return phase.
His last league appearance in a Beşiktaş shirt was away against Kayserispor. He started on the bench in the match on 24 September 2025 and entered the field in the 80th minute, replacing Jonas Svensson. Beşiktaş won the match 4–0.

Necip Uysal stated that he was informed the club no longer planned to include him in its football strategy, and that no direct discussion took place with him during this process. He also noted that during the same period, national team goalkeeper Mert Günok was similarly asked to find a new club.
In his statement, he said he intended to end his football career at the end of the season. He affirmed that he would continue training with the club in the manner and location provided, and that he planned to conclude his career wearing the Beşiktaş shirt.
