MG was founded in the 1920s in the United Kingdom and currently operates under the China-based SAIC Motor. The brand competes globally—particularly in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East—with electric and hybrid vehicles.

MG gained fame for its classic sports cars. After being acquired by SAIC in 2007, the brand underwent restructuring and began its electrification strategy. In the 2020s, MG increased global recognition with models such as the MG4 EV, ZS EV, and HS PHEV. By 2024, the brand delivered approximately 700,000 vehicles worldwide.
