A Journey to Heidegger’s Cabin is a philosophical essay written by İbrahim Kalın. İbrahim Kalın interprets Heidegger’s thought not as an abstract theoretical construction but as an integrated field of reflection on human existence, ethics and aesthetics. In the book, the Western philosophical tradition after Socrates is criticized for having forgotten the question of “being” and reducing it merely to objective entities. Kalın emphasizes the philosophical and moral necessity of returning to “being” as a way to overcome the ontological crisis born of this tendency.

The book addresses how the modern human has become estranged from its roots and its search for meaning. İbrahim Kalın draws attention to how modern techno-civilization has instrumentalized “being” and seeks pathways for humanity to reestablish its relationship with it. By positioning philosophy as a way of lived thinking, he explores the possibilities of the human being as neighbor, companion and guardian of “being.”

The book creates a space of interaction between Eastern and Western intellectual traditions. İbrahim Kalın engages with Heidegger’s ideas by comparing them at times with the mystical and poetic worlds of Nesimi, Yunus Emre and Âşık Veysel, and at other times with the philosophical approach of Mulla Sadra. Through this method, he presents a philosophical dialogue showing how different intellectual traditions can complement and enrich one another.
