Başakşehir Student Gift Anatolian High School

Öğrenciden Armağan Anadolu Lisesi is a secondary education institution under the authority of the Ministry of National Education of Türkiye, located in the Başakşehir district of Istanbul. The institution conducts its educational activities within the boundaries of Başakşehir Mahallesi.^【1】

The institutional history of the school can be traced through social and academic achievements recorded since the 2012–2013 academic year. During this period, the school achieved second place in the Başakşehir District Chess Tournament organized by the Başakşehir District Directorate of National Education.

In subsequent years, the school won various awards in literature, art, and sports. Notably, in the 2016–2017 academic year, it secured first place in Istanbul Province for composition. Since its establishment, the institution has followed a development path focused on enhancing academic achievement and developing social projects.^【2】

Its mission is to cultivate individuals committed to the principles and reforms of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who embrace national and universal values, utilize information technologies, and assume social responsibility, in line with the general objectives of Turkish national education.^【3】

Educational activities at the institution take place between 09:10 and 16:00. Foreign language instruction includes English as the first foreign language and German as the second foreign language. The school’s information technology infrastructure is supported by fiber internet installed under the FATİH Project. According to academic performance data, the YGS success rate is 100 percent, while the LYS success rate and student placement rate stand at 79 percent.^【4】

Student admissions are determined based on central examination system scores and minimum placement thresholds. Statistical data indicate the minimum thresholds by grade level as follows: 364.56 for 9th grade, 383.27 for 10th grade, 415.90 for 11th grade, and 336.01 for 12th grade. Current capacity monitoring is carried out through the e-Okul system.^【5】

The school campus is located 1 kilometer from the Başakşehir district center and 35 kilometers from the Istanbul city center, adjacent to the Oyakkent settlement area. The campus includes 29 classrooms, one conference hall, one multipurpose hall, one sports hall, one chemistry laboratory, one music classroom, one art classroom, and one cafeteria. The institution’s library holds 2,622 registered books. Building heating needs are met by a natural gas system.^【6】

The institution’s teaching staff consists of 50 educators. Administrative processes and personnel management are conducted in accordance with standards set by the Ministry of National Education. A total of 619 students are currently enrolled. Student transportation is provided through shuttle services operated by Horasan Turizm, as well as municipal buses, minibuses, and the metro. The school fields teams in sports including football, volleyball, basketball, futsal, badminton, table tennis, and chess, achieving first, second, and third place finishes at the district level. Culturally, the institution publishes seven distinct periodicals: “Sıradan Dergisi,” “Armağan Dergisi,” “Nüve,” “Armağan,” “Felsefe Yolunda,” “Matematik Dergisi Limit,” and “Körsel Sanatlar.” Scientific projects include the design of a periodic table for visually impaired individuals and energy generation using solar panels.^【9】

The institution serves as a lead or partner in various national and international projects. Internationally, Erasmus projects are actively implemented. Nationally, initiatives such as the “Achievement Enhancement Action Plan,” “Orphan Siblings Project,” “Clean School Clean Environment Project,” and “Traffic Olympiad Project” continue as part of the institution’s social responsibility and academic development efforts.^【10】
