Spider-Man: Homecoming (Original Title: Spider-Man: Homecoming), directed by Jon Watts, is a 2017 action, adventure and science fiction superhero film. Produced with Tom Holland, Michael Keaton and Robert Downey Jr. in the lead roles, it is the first solo film featuring Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).^【1】

The film takes place eight months after the events of Captain America: Civil War. Fifteen-year-old high school student Peter Parker (Spider-Man) struggles to balance his ordinary life with his desire to join the Avengers under the guidance of his mentor Tony Stark (Iron Man).

After being removed from his job by the Department of Damage Control (D.O.D.C.), Adrian Toomes, who had been cleaning up alien debris in New York following the Battle of New York, begins using leftover Chitauri technology to build and sell advanced illegal weapons. Toomes designs a mechanical flying suit and operates in the underworld under the alias "Vulture." During a bank robbery attempt, Peter Parker discovers the existence of these weapons and begins pursuing the criminals. During this investigation, his closest friend Ned Leeds learns Peter’s secret identity.

While traveling to Washington D.C. with his school’s decathlon team, Peter prevents a Chitauri core stolen by Toomes’s men from exploding, saving his friends at the Washington Monument. Upon returning to New York, he attempts to stop Toomes on the Staten Island Ferry; however, due to a weapon malfunction, the ferry splits in two. Tony Stark intervenes, rescues the passengers, and takes back Peter’s advanced Spider-Man suit, believing him unprepared for such responsibility.

Peter discovers that Liz, the girl he invited to his school’s prom, is Adrian Toomes’s daughter. Learning that Toomes plans to steal a cargo plane carrying advanced weapons and equipment from Avengers Tower, Peter dons his old homemade suit and pursues him. During a battle at the wreckage of the plane on Coney Island beach, Peter saves Toomes from a collapsing material explosion and ensures his arrest. In the film’s conclusion, Tony Stark officially invites Peter to join the Avengers in recognition of his growth; however, Peter declines the offer, choosing instead to remain the "friendly neighborhood Spider-Man."

In 2014, plans were underway to continue The Amazing Spider-Man series, but in early 2015, Sony Pictures and Marvel reached an agreement regarding the character’s distribution rights. As a result, Spider-Man was integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it was decided that the first solo film in the new series would be released in 2017.^【2】

Jon Watts directed the film, with the screenplay written by John Francis Daley, Jonathan M. Goldstein, Jon Watts, Christopher Ford, Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Kevin Feige, Stan Lee and Amy Pascal served as producers. Salvatore Totino was the director of photography, and the score was composed by Michael Giacchino.

Spider-Man: Homecoming was released in the United States and Türkiye on 7 July 2017. With an estimated production budget of $175 million, the film earned a worldwide box office total of $880,978,185.

In Türkiye, distributed by TME Films and Warner Bros. Türkiye as a Sony Pictures production, the film was watched by 207,065 viewers during its opening weekend, generating ₺2,898,675 in revenue. It remained in theaters for a total of eight weeks, reaching an audience of 707,320 and a total box office of ₺9,150,038.^【4】

The film won a total of eight awards and received eleven nominations across various festivals and award ceremonies.^【5】

• Saturn Awards (2018): Tom Holland won the award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor. The film was also nominated for Best Comic-to-Film Motion Picture, while Michael Keaton and Zendaya received nominations in acting categories.^【6】
• Teen Choice Awards (2017): The film won Choice Summer Movie, while Tom Holland received Choice Summer Movie Star: Male and Zendaya received Choice Summer Movie Star: Female.
