Seven Good Men

The Seven Beautiful Men represent a literary group of 20th-century Turkish literature and culture. The group consists of Zarifoğlu, Bayazıt, Pakdil, Rasim Özdenören, Ali Kutlay, Alaeddin Özdenören, and Mehmet Akif İnan. The name "The Seven Beautiful Men" is used to identify these seven figures who were active in the literary world during the same period and shared personal friendships. The group formed when these young men met while attending high school in Kahramanmaraş during the 1950s and 1960s, united by their shared passion for literature. The group’s name was inspired by Cahit Zarifoğlu’s poem titled "The Seven Beautiful Men." The Seven Beautiful Men constitute a literary community that has made a significant impact on Turkish literature and intellectual life, addressing various dimensions of literature and art.
