Sakarya National Garden

Sakarya Millet Bahçesi is a public recreational and green space located in the Şeker Neighborhood of the Adapazarı district in Sakarya province. It was opened to the public on 5 June 2020 during a ceremony held as part of World Environment Day. The garden, built on a total area of 62,773 square meters, was created by combining the lands of the former Sakarya Stadium and Çark Recreation Area, both of which hold a place in the city’s institutional and cultural memory.

The landscape design of Sakarya Millet Bahçesi includes walking paths, a pond, and a reflection pool that allow visitors to spend time immersed in nature. The park’s architectural and social amenities are as follows:

• Social Areas: Millet Kıraathanesi, Yeşilay Kafe, a book café, and various food and beverage outlets and kiosks.
• Observation and Viewing Points: A viewing terrace offering bird’s-eye views of the park, an observation tower, and a preserved section of the old stadium stands reflecting the area’s history as a sports venue.
• Cultural and Entertainment Amenities: Historical carousel remnants, a symbolic pumpkin house selling local products and magnets, an inverted house, and a small amusement park.
• Other Facilities: A mosque and various administrative buildings.

Open daily throughout the year, the garden is accessible in every season. Visitors can engage in activities such as walking, cycling, reading books, and picnicking with their own food. Especially during the summer months, various concerts and social events are organized within the park.

The garden is accessible by road and can be reached by public transportation or private vehicles. Parking areas are available for visitors arriving by car. The site has been designed in accordance with barrier-free access standards and offers guided services for visitors with special needs.
