Ring 3 is a 2017 American horror and thriller film directed by F. Javier Gutiérrez. The film explores the curse emerging from a new version of the cursed videotape and the mystery behind it.

Julia, an ordinary high school student, notices that her boyfriend Holt, who is attending university, is growing distant. When she visits him on campus, she discovers that Holt has become one of the viewers of a cursed videotape that has gained popularity at the university and kills anyone who watches it within seven days. To help Holt escape the curse, Julia sacrifices herself and uncovers a hidden “film” within the tape that no one has seen before. This mysterious discovery reveals new secrets about Samara’s past and the true origins of the curse.
