My Dear Sister (Film)

Canım Kardeşim is one of the most significant dramatic films in Turkish cinema. Directed by Ertem Eğilmez and written by Sadık Şendil, the film was produced and distributed by Arzu Film. Canım Kardeşim was filmed in 1972 in the peripheral neighborhoods of Istanbul. Sadık Şendil’s screenplay presents a universal story centered on poverty and family bonds. Cinematographer Hüseyin Özşahin created the film’s atmosphere through the use of natural lighting. The film’s music was composed by Cahit Berkay.
