Karaman Baba Türbesi

The Karaman Baba Türbesi is located within the boundaries of the Adapazarı district of Sakarya province, in the Karaman region. Situated opposite Yenikent State Hospital and behind the Urban Forest, the tomb is 15 kilometers from the city center. It is accessible via public transportation within the city, the road is asphalted, and it is open to visitors year-round.

The person after whom the tomb is named was originally called Can Baba. According to historical accounts, Can Baba is regarded as one of the "Horasan Erenleri" and "Alp Erenleri" who came to Anatolia. In the region, he is also referred to as "Seyyid Karaman Baba" due to the belief that he descended from the Prophet.

According to traditions and historical records, Can Baba always wore black clothing when visiting Hacı Bektaş Veli, arriving in a state of serenity. Hacı Bektaş Veli gave him the epithet "Kara" because of his black robe and black turban. It is known that Karaman Baba was martyred on the road while traveling to participate in the conquest of Istanbul.
