Kadıncık Waterfall

Kadıncık Waterfall is located within the boundaries of the Ulubey district in Ordu Province, Türkiye. The waterfall is situated approximately 17 kilometers from the district center, in the Kardeşler Neighborhood under Ulubey’s administration. Access by vehicle is possible up to a certain point, after which visitors must continue on foot via a hiking trail. This trail is suitable for nature walking and passes through a forested area.

Kadıncık Waterfall is situated in a valley surrounded by steep cliffs and dense vegetation. The waterfall flows in harmony with the surrounding natural formations and the topographical structure of the valley. Although its height is not specified in available sources, its rate of descent and environmental context classify it as a typical stream waterfall at the regional scale. Water cascades down a rocky surface, forming a small pool at its base, which gradually merges with the stream bed below.

The area surrounding the waterfall is covered by natural vegetation exhibiting typical characteristics of the Black Sea Region’s forested ecosystems. Species such as hornbeam, beech, and oak, along with various shrubs and herbaceous plants, are observed in the region. Along the hiking trail leading to the waterfall, traces of natural wildlife are visible. The surrounding land is not used for agricultural activities and, due to its distance from settlements, human impact remains limited.

Kadıncık Waterfall is listed in the tourism inventories of local administrative bodies including the Ulubey Sub-Governorship, the Ordu Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, and the Ulubey Municipality. It is promoted as part of the region’s natural attractions, with controlled access implemented to ensure its protection. The name “Kadıncık” derives from the nearby “Kadıncık Stream,” a designation found in local oral culture and various promotional materials.

Kadıncık Waterfall stands out due to its location within the rural natural fabric of Ulubey district, largely untouched by human intervention. When evaluated in terms of its geographical setting, vegetation cover, and environmental characteristics, it represents a typical example of the region’s distinctive topography and ecological diversity. The preserved state of its natural landscape, combined with the partial difficulty of access, contributes to the maintenance of its current natural condition. In this regard, Kadıncık Waterfall is among the rural natural assets of Ordu and possesses qualities worthy of consideration within the regional natural heritage framework.
