Jujutsu Kaisen (Series)

Jujutsu Kaisen is a television anime series adapted from the manga of the same name created by Japanese writer and artist Gege Akutami. The anime is known for its story centered around supernatural entities and a system of sorcery. The adaptation was produced by the animation studio MAPPA and first aired in 2020. The series is set in a world where sorcerers battle cursed beings, blending action dark fantasy and supernatural elements. Upon its release it gained a wide audience and established itself as a significant entry among modern anime productions.

The anime adaptation is directed bySunghoo Park. The screenplay was written by Hiroshi Seko and the music was composed by Hiroaki Tsutsumi.

Season One began airing on 2 October 2020 and concluded on 27 March 2021. Subsequently the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which explores the prequel story, was released in 2021. Season Two aired in 2023 and addressed both past events and the continuation of the main storyline. Season Three has been announced and is currently in production.

In the series universe supernatural entities known as cursed spirits emerge from human negative emotions. These beings are invisible to ordinary people and can cause harm. To combat this threat individuals known as Jujutsu sorcerers fight back. These individuals possess special abilities and can control cursed energy. Sorcerers use various techniques to eliminate cursed beings and maintain balance. This system is built around a power structure centered on cursed energy and its associated techniques.

The main character of the series is Yuji Itadori, a high school student with extraordinary physical strength. One day he encounters a cursed object and consumes it becoming the vessel of a powerful curse. Following this event Yuji is brought under the control of sorcerers and guided by Satoru Gojo. Yuji enters the world of sorcery to fight cursed spirits. The story unfolds around Yuji and his friends as they battle cursed beings and face the threats encountered along the way.
