Gazipaşa Airport

Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport is a important airport located east of Antalya in place serving the region’s tourist destinations. Built to revitalize tourism in the Alanya, Gazipaşa and environment areas, this airport strengthens Türkiye’s air transport infrastructure. Construction began in 1991 but the airport remained idle for years due to various reasons. In 2007, it was taken over by TAV Airports Holding and transformed into a modern facility.

• Construction of the airport began in 1991 but remained incomplete for many years.
• The airport opened to air traffic on 21 July 2009 with its first landing, carried out by a private aircraft.
• The first scheduled flight was operated by Borajet Airlines using an ATR72 aircraft on 12 July 2010, marking the official inauguration of the airport.

• On 31 August 2007, following a public tender, TAV Airports acquired the operating rights for 25 years until 2034.
• TAV expanded the terminal building threefold, doubled the apron capacity, and extended the runway to accommodate larger aircraft.
• The operating period has been extended until May 2036.

• The runway has been extended to enable landings by wide-body aircraft.
• Terminal building: A modern structure covering 2,144 m² with an annual passenger capacity of 500,000.
• Apron capacity: Includes a 150-vehicle parking area and an expanded apron.

• The airport has joined the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program and meets specific environmental sustainability standards.
• ICAO and IATA codes have been assigned, making the airport eligible for international flights.

• Borajet operated the first scheduled flight to Gazipaşa Airport.
• Corendon Airlines was among the first carriers to land at the airport with its Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

• Initially designed for aircraft such as the A319, Boeing 737-300 and 737-500, the airport has since been expanded to accommodate larger aircraft.
• Demand has grown for direct flights from countries such as Russia, Germany, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Belgium, significantly boosting tourism.

• With the opening of the Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport, the tourism potential of the Alanya, Gazipaşa and Anamur regions has increased significantly.
• As a result of increased flight activity and expansion efforts, new hotel investments and tourism projects have emerged.

• The airport has triggered significant economic revitalization in the region, with job creation driven by improved transportation infrastructure.
• With the goal of extending the tourist season, Gazipaşa Airport is planned to operate year-round for all 12 months.
