📻 What Is Exhibited?
The museum’s most important pieces are radios donated by a collector named Ferit Akalın. Ferit Akalın, known in Çankırı as “Radyocu Ferit,” was born in 1939. He was deeply interested in radio construction and repair, and even invented a remotely controlled vehicle.
Approximately 90 radios from the period between 1923 and the 1970s are on display, each representing different eras. All of these radios have been restored and are fully functional. In addition, around 200 other communication devices used in the past—including telegraphs, vintage televisions, typewriters, letters, and local newspapers—can also be seen in the museum.

🌟 Time Travel: The Origins of Communication
One section of the museum is dedicated to the earliest communication tools. Communication means the transmission of information between people. You communicate when you talk to friends at school, listen to your teacher, or read a book.
But how did people communicate before electricity and modern technology?
- Trained pigeons carried messages from one place to another.
- Writing was inscribed on plates made from the papyrus plant used in ancient Egypt.
- In China, the invention of paper made writing and sharing information much easier.
The museum takes you back thousands of years by allowing you to see these early communication tools in their original forms.
