Farewell, Teacher (Book)

Goodbye, Mr. Terupt is the fourth and final book in Rob Buyea’s Mr. Terupt series. Originally titled Goodbye, Mr. Terupt, it was published in 2020. The Turkish translation was published in 2014 by Altın Kitaplar under the title Elveda Öğretmenim: Sınıftan Yükselen Sesler 2.

The novel recounts the story of seven students transitioning from fifth grade to middle school alongside their teacher, Mr. Terupt. The students gather for a final gathering to celebrate the completion of their elementary school years. During this reunion, they share their curiosity about their teacher’s past and strive to understand the person behind his actions. Most of the students express their gratitude for his dedication to teaching and the impact he has had on them. The novel is shaped by an emotionally charged atmosphere of farewell and classroom solidarity.
