Ergani Science High School

Ergani Fen Lisesi is a secondary education institution under the Ministry of National Education of Türkiye, located at İstasyon Mahallesi, İstasyon Caddesi No:1 in the Ergani district of Diyarbakır. The school campus is situated 5 kilometers south of the Ergani district center, along the Diyarbakır–Elazığ railway line.^【1】

The buildings currently in use were constructed by the Ministry of National Education for educational purposes and began operations in 1944 as a Village Institute. The institution was renamed Dicle Teacher Training School in 1956 and subsequently operated as Dicle Primary Teacher Training School and then Dicle Teacher High School. In 1989, it was restructured as Ergani Anatolian Teacher High School and continues its educational activities today under the name Ergani Fen Lisesi.

The school, named after the Dicle River, has produced notable figures who have contributed to Türkiye’s national education and cultural life, including the writer Sezai Karakoç. The 1944-built structures on campus are no longer in use, while the stone main building and auxiliary structures constructed in 1952 remain actively utilized.^【2】
