Teşrik derives from the Arabic root sh-r-k (شرك), which in Arabic carries meanings such as “to be a partner, to share, to co-participate.” The Turkish word teşrik is derived from the Arabic verbal noun taşrīk (تشريك), meaning “to make a partner” or “to involve in partnership.” This word stems from the Arabic verb şarika (شَرِكَ), meaning “he became a partner, he shared,” and follows the Arabic II bab (tafʿīl) verb pattern.
