Dert Bende (Film)

Dert Bende is a 1973 Turkish dramatic film directed by Orhan Elmas and written by Bülent Oran. The film explores the dramatic lives and romantic triangle of two young sisters.

Young woman Fatma and Tarık fall in love at first sight. However, Fatma’s sister Süreyya also develops strong feelings for Tarık. When Tarık travels abroad for work, the two lovers are separated. During his absence, Fatma’s former boyfriend Bülent rekindles his relationship with her and persuades her to marry him. Fatma intends to inform Tarık of this development by letter, but Süreyya begins writing love letters to Tarık in Fatma’s place. On the day of the wedding, unexpected events unfold. The film also dramatically portrays the struggles of two sisters who lost their parents at a young age.
