Crown Prince (TV Series)

Veliaht is a Turkish television series. Produced by Faro Yapım and Gold Film and directed by Sinan Öztürk, the drama combines elements of action and family conflict. The screenplay, written by Berrin Tekdemir, Necip Güleçer and Tunahan Kurt, airs on Show TV in Türkiye. The first episode premiered on 11 September 2025.

The series centers on the internal conflicts and power struggles within the Karslı family, who control a major bus terminal in Istanbul. The family patriarch, Zülfikar Karslı, faces both health issues and escalating tensions among family members. The course of events shifts when Timur, a man who earns his living as a mobile repairman, becomes entangled in the family’s life. Timur’s ascent toward becoming the Karslı family’s “heir” evolves into a dramatic narrative interweaving themes of loyalty, ambition, power, familial bonds and social class differences.

The main cast includes Akın Akınözü (Timur), Serra Arıtürk (Reyhan Karslı), Ercan Kesal (Zülfikar Karslı), Erkan Kolçak Köstendil (Yahya Kaptan), Hazal Türesan (Derya Karslı), Derya Karadaş (Kudret Karslı), Tansu Biçer (Vezir Yılmaz) and Bora Akkaş (Zafer Karslı). The ensemble brings together experienced figures from the Turkish television industry alongside emerging talents.

Veliaht airs on Show TV on Thursday evenings, with each episode averaging 120 minutes in length. Filming took place in various cities, primarily in Istanbul. The visual atmosphere favors dark tones, confined spaces and intense dramatic storytelling. Director Sinan Öztürk emphasizes the characters’ inner conflicts in his scene composition, blending the family drama with psychological analysis.

The global launch of Veliaht was held as part of MIPCOM Cannes, one of the leading events in the television industry. The launch event took place at Palm Beach in Cannes and was presented to over 600 international television industry representatives. This initiative is regarded as a significant step in promoting Turkish television productions on a global scale.

As its title suggests, Veliaht tells a story shaped around the concepts of inheritance, power and responsibility. The dynamics of familial authority, the transition to modern urban life and social class distinctions form the core dramatic axis of the series. The notion of “heirship” symbolizes not only the transfer of wealth or status but also the representation of identity, belonging and power relations.
