The overall length of the weapon is designed to be a maximum of 1,560 millimeters, with a barrel length of 915 millimeters. The operating principle is based on a short-recoil operated barrel system, and the barrel is air-cooled.

The firing mechanism is automatic; additionally, the model can be operated in two modes: semi-automatic and fully automatic. The weapon has a muzzle velocity of 900 meters per second. The rate of fire ranges between 750 and 950 rounds per minute. The effective range is measured at a minimum of 1,800 meters, while the maximum range is at least 6,800 meters. Regarding durability, when a Stellite-lined barrel is used, the barrel life is specified to be at least 15,000 rounds.
