Mebni has entered Turkish from the Arabic root bny, via the word mabniyy (مبنيّ). This term is derived from the Arabic verb banā, meaning “to build” or “to establish.” Its fundamental meaning is “constructed,” “established,” or “based on a foundation.” In Turkish, it has been used both in literal and figurative senses and has become established as a grammatical term.
