Annelik Yolculuğu Mobile Application

Annelik Yolculuğu Mobile Application is a mobile health application developed by the Ministry of Health of Türkiye. The application offers a holistic approach covering all processes from pregnancy to childbirth, from the postpartum period to the development of infants aged 0–2 years. Its purpose is to support maternal and infant health, increase the rate of normal births, and ensure effective, safe, and accessible access to health services. The application has been implemented within the framework of the Century of Türkiye vision and the Normal Birth Action Plan.

The application was prepared in line with the goals determined within the scope of the Normal Birth Action Plan. In this context, the Ministry of Health created 22 updated “Pregnancy, Birth and Postpartum Informative Videos” and launched the “Annelik Yolculuğu” mobile application as the digital platform component of the action plan. The development of the application involved the General Directorate of Public Health, the General Directorate of Health Information Systems, and members of the Scientific Board.

The application enables the monitoring of changes during pregnancy on a week-by-week basis and allows expectant mothers to track their pregnancy as well as the development of their babies during the postpartum and 0–2-year periods. The content consists of evidence-based information approved by healthcare professionals. The main modules of the application are as follows:

• Week-by-Week Pregnancy Tracking: Provides the opportunity to monitor physical and psychological changes during pregnancy.
• Nutrition, Exercise, and Lifestyle Recommendations: Includes recommendations on nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
• Birth Preparation Module: Provides information about preparation methods that can be applied during pregnancy and before childbirth.
• Breastfeeding and Postpartum Support: Offers guidance on breastfeeding, breast milk, and the postpartum process.
• 0–2 Year Infant Development: Contains recommendations regarding baby care, nutrition, and early childhood development.
• Test and Vaccination Reminders: Provides reminders for timely completion of examination and immunization processes.
• Memory Diary and Name Suggestions: Includes a memory diary where the baby’s developmental stages can be recorded and name suggestions.
• Reliable Information Sharing: Provides accurate and verified health information to expectant mothers and families.

The application can be used not only by expectant mothers but also by fathers. Accessible via mobile devices, it offers the opportunity to monitor pregnancy and childbirth processes as well as baby development. Users can download the application for free from mobile app stores.

The intended effects of the application include enabling expectant mothers to experience the pregnancy process consciously and safely, access accurate information about the natural processes of childbirth, monitor the effects of breastfeeding on maternal and infant health, support the care and developmental processes of babies in early childhood, contribute to raising healthy generations, and increase health literacy by providing access to verified information.
