About Youth 4 (Book)

Our Youth 4 is the fourth volume in a series prepared by the Directorate of Religious Affairs as part of its youth seminar program. It aims to provide young people with clear, academically grounded responses to their questions regarding the concepts of nafs, shaytan, repentance/contrition, and tawakkul.

The work focuses on the internal challenges young people encounter in their personal lives. Concepts such as “nafs” and “shaytan” are examined from psychological and spiritual perspectives, while the process of repentance/contrition and the notion of tawakkul are analyzed in terms of their practical application in daily life.

• Nafs and Shaytan: Internal inclinations, desires, and the discipline of the nafs; the psychological effects of shaytan on the individual are explored.
• Contrition and Repentance: The inner awareness, sense of responsibility, and spiritual transformation that follow wrongful actions are explained.
• Tawakkul: The psychological balance generated by trust in Allah and the impact of tawakkul on an individual’s life are examined.

• Question-and-Answer Format: Clear and academically rigorous answers are provided to realistic questions young people may encounter in everyday life.
• Academic Foundation: The book features contributions from experts including Prof. Sevim Arslan, Barış Çakan, and Mustafa Yasin Akbaş, under the coordination of Suat Okuyan and the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Kurt.
• Sections: The content is organized into sections titled Nafs, Shaytan, Contrition/Repentance, and Tawakkul.
• Language and Presentation: Academic content is presented in simple, accessible language to suit young readers.

• Authors: A collaborative work prepared by academics including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Kurt (publication director), Prof. Dr. Sevim Arslan, Barış Çakan, and Mustafa Yasin Akbaş.
