11 April Stadium

Şanlıurfa 11 Nisan Stadium is one of the city’s largest complex facilities with a capacity of approximately 22,000 spectators. Completed in 2011, this venue primarily hosts home matches of Şanlıurfaspor. The stadium’s name was chosen to honor 11 April, the day Şanlıurfa was liberated from occupation.

Located in the Haliliye district of Şanlıurfa, the 11 Nisan Stadium is designed as a modern sports facility. Built to meet UEFA standards, it features modern amenities including changing rooms, training fields and VIP areas. In addition to football matches, the stadium is also used for concerts and major events.

Previously known as GAP Arena, the stadium was renamed “11 Nisan Stadium” in 2017 by directive of then President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. This change aimed to preserve the memory of the earlier 11 Nisan Stadium, which had been demolished. Prior to hosting the 2024 Super Cup Final, renovations were carried out on the protocol stand, corridors and changing rooms.

The Şanlıurfa 11 Nisan Stadium serves not only as a football venue but also as a hub contributing to the city’s social and cultural life. It hosts events designed to promote sports participation and inspire youth.
