What to Do in Kürtün?
The people of this district create wonders with their hands! In particular, silk carpet weaving is highly renowned. Almost every household has a carpet loom, and two people work together for months to weave colorful silk carpets. Moreover, due to the abundance of forests, woodcraft and ironwork have also developed significantly.
Çepni Turks and Skilled Hands
A large portion of Kürtün’s population consists of Çepni Turks. The Çepnis have been known since ancient times as the best craftsmen of iron. Today, you can still see exquisite items made of iron in the district. At the highland festivals, you can also closely examine these fine handicrafts.
