Afyonkarahisar Sağlık Bilimleri Üniversitesi (AFSÜ), 18 Mayıs 2018 tarihli ve 30425 sayılı Resmî Gazete’de yayımlanan 7141 sayılı Kanun ile kurulmuş, Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi'nden ayrılarak bağımsız bir yükseköğretim kurumu hâline gelmiştir. Kuruluşu ile birlikte sağlık temalı eğitim-öğretim, araştırma-geliştirme ve topluma hizmet alanlarında ihtisaslaşmayı esas alan bir yapılanmaya gitmiştir. Afyonkarahisar Health Sciences University (AFSÜ) was established by Law No. 7141, published in the Official Gazette dated May 18, 2018, with the separation from Afyon Kocatepe University to become an independent higher education institution.
