
HistoryThe history of Karaisalı extends back to antiquity. In the region, the Milvan Castle and Keçi Castle place structures bear traces from the Roman period. During the Middle Ages Era, it was under the control of the Seljuk Turks and the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia. Later, Karaisalı came under the control of Mamluks and was incorporated into Ottoman territory in 1517 following the campaign of Yavuz Sultan Selim.
