On 24 May 2025, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye and President Ahmed al-Shara of Syria met at the Presidential Dolmabahçe Working Office in Istanbul. The meeting, which lasted approximately one and a half hours, was held behind closed doors, after which the delegations from both countries attended a joint banquet.
