The 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics is a scientific award granted to three physicists — John Clarke, Michel H. Devoret, and John M. Martinis — for experimentally demonstrating the effects of quantum mechanics in macroscopic systems and for the discovery of energy quantization via macroscopic quantum tunneling in electrical circuits. The award was announced by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences on 7 October 2025. Reason for the Award The 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded for the discove
