
Krasheninnikov Volcano is an active stratovolcano located on the Kamchatka Peninsula in eastern Russia. Situated within the Eastern Kamchatka Volcanic Belt, the volcano became active again in 2025 after a hiatus of 600 years. On July 30, 2025, at 11:24 AM local time, an 8.8 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia's Far East. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) determined the epicenter to be approximately 119 kilometers east-southeast of the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, with a focal depth of 19.3 kilometers.
