In architecture, scale refers to the proportional relationship between the actual dimensions of a building or architectural element and a reference dimension. Technically, this ratio is represented in drawings and models using scales such as 1:100, 1:50, or 1:20, allowing the building’s true size to be represented in reduced form. However, scale is not merely a representational tool; it is also an perceptual and conceptual design component that shapes the relationship between space, the human bo

Biomimicry, derived from the Greek words ‘bios’ meaning life and ‘mimesis’ meaning imitation, refers to emulating life. It is an approach that mimics nature’s designs and processes to achieve a healthier and more sustainable world creation. The efficient and resilient systems developed by living organisms over millions of years of evolution have inspired architects and been applied in various structures. Biomimicry offers a powerful method for enhancing energy efficiency, preserving ecological b

Apple Watch is a customizable smartwatch developed by Apple that integrates with the iPhone to deliver notifications to your wrist, tracks health and fitness data such as heart rate, activity levels, and sleep patterns using advanced sensors, simplifies daily tasks through various applications, and offers communication features like making calls and messaging. Essentially, it combines the functions of a traditional watch with modern technology to serve as a multifunctional assistant and health m

The Piaggio P.180 Avanti is a twin-turboprop business jet manufactured by Italian company Piaggio Aerospace. Unlike other turboprop aircraft, it features a pusher propeller configuration and a three-surface design (canard, main wing, and tail surfaces). This architecture provides the aircraft with high speed and fuel efficiency. The Avanti is used in business and private aviation for its laminar-flow fuselage and quiet cabin structure. Development Purpose and History The development of the Piagg

Context in Architecture refers not only to a building’s physical location but also to the comprehensive network of relationships it establishes with its social, cultural, historical and economic environment. Context moves beyond formal design decisions in the architectural process, requiring that a building be understood in interaction with the meaning system of its surroundings, its user profile and its historical layers. Within this framework, architecture is not merely a discipline responding

TEKNOFEST The Architecture and Visual Design Competition was first implemented under the TEKNOFEST umbrella in 2025. This competition expands TEKNOFEST’s multidisciplinary structure by focusing on technology and encouraging innovative production in architecture and visual arts, areas with strong aesthetic dimensions. The competition adopts a holistic approach that encompasses not only engineering and technical solutions but also spatial design, visual aesthetics, user experience, and digital art

Engineering = Intelligence + Curiosity + Ability to Generate Solutions (Generated by artificial intelligence.) Engineering (Generated by artificial intelligence.) 👷‍♂️ Imagine, Design, Build! Engineering is the art of using science and mathematics to design new things, solve problems, and make life easier. An engineer can build bridges, create robots, or send rockets into space! 👨‍🔧 Where Is Engineering Used? 🚀 Space rockets and satellites 🏗️ Buildings and bridges 🤖 Robots and machines 🚗

A Printed Circuit Board (PCB) is a plate on which electronic components are mounted and electrical connections between these components are provided through conductive pathways. PCBs form the fundamental building block of modern electronic devices and play a critical role in transforming a concept or circuit into a functional and reliable product. The design and manufacturing process is a complex procedure involving a series of engineering steps that directly affect the performance, cost, and re

Exclusionary Architecture (Hostile Architecture) is an urban design strategy that deliberately restricts and controls the use of urban and public spaces for specific groups and behaviors. Hostile architecture is regarded as one of the most visible tools for implementing social exclusion. Public spaces in modern cities are not only assessed for their architectural aesthetics but also as physical manifestations of social relations, power dynamics, and societal priorities. In this context, hostile

"Less is more" (Az çoktur) is a concise phrase that encapsulates the philosophy of minimalism, first articulated by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, one of the pioneering figures of twentieth-century modern architecture. Over time, this principle has resonated across numerous fields including design, architecture, art, literature, and lifestyle. It embraces a design ethos that prioritizes simplicity and functionality by eliminating unnecessary ornamentation and excess. Gradually, it evolved from being
