Three Beauties

Üç Güzeller refers to three natural fairy chimneys aligned side by side, located at the western entrance of the Ürgüp district in Nevşehir Province, within Türkiye’s Central Anatolia Region. One of the symbolic landmarks of the Cappadocia area, this formation serves as a major tourist attraction due to its distinctive physical appearance and regional recognition. The site lies within the boundaries of Temenni Neighborhood.

Local residents and tour guides have long associated the physical structure of the fairy chimneys with the figures of a father, mother, and child. As a result, the name “Üç Güzeller” is widely used not only among the local population but also among both domestic and international tourists. Although in 2024 the Ürgüp Municipality proposed renaming the site “Peribacaları,” the District Governorate evaluated the suggestion and rejected it on the grounds that the term “Peribacaları” lacks specific regional recognition. Consequently, the name “Üç Güzeller” has been preserved.

Üç Güzeller is visited year-round by both domestic and international tourists. The site is located approximately five minutes from the center of Ürgüp and is accessible via the Nevşehir-Ürgüp highway. The area offers landscapes characteristic of Cappadocia’s natural features, including the visual presence of Mount Erciyes.

Administrative regulations concerning the Üç Güzeller site are coordinated by the Ürgüp District Governorate, Ürgüp Municipality, and Nevşehir Provincial Directorate. All infrastructure projects and naming decisions implemented at the site are carried out under the supervision and approval of the relevant public institutions.

Various measures have been implemented to preserve the site’s natural structure while promoting sustainable tourism activities. Infrastructure projects such as walking paths have been developed with the aim of mitigating environmental impacts caused by visitor traffic.

The Ürgüp District Governorate constructed a wooden boardwalk trail at the Üç Güzeller site. The project utilized materials compatible with the natural environment, designed to ensure visitor safety and reduce soil erosion. Evaluated on-site by the Nevşehir Provincial Directorate, this initiative is regarded as a protective measure aimed at preserving the natural fabric of the area.

Access to this location on the Nevşehir-Ürgüp Road is possible by private vehicle or tour bus via the highway. It is approximately five minutes from the center of Ürgüp.
