TEKNOFEST Educational Technologies Competition

TEKNOFEST The Education Technologies Competition is one of the thematic competitions organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST Technology Competitions, in alignment with Türkiye’s national technology Technology Initiative vision. The competition aims to support individuals who develop innovative solutions that promote the integration of technology in education.

The Education Technologies Competition, within the framework of TEKNOFEST, aims to enable individuals to combine their social responsibility awareness with technological information expertise and experience to produce projects that enhance social benefit equity in educational processes. The primary goal of the competition is to develop local and national solutions that facilitate, sustain, and support equity in education through the correct and effective integration of technology into formal learning processes. A key priority is the implementation of systems that prevent disruption of education under challenging physical conditions, pandemic like extraordinary circumstances.

The competition anticipates the evaluation of projects under various themes related to the use of technology in education. Participants are expected to present innovative products developed from a learner-centered perspective that make learning more efficient and enduring.

• Learning and Content Management Systems: Development of accessible, user-friendly and interactive content platforms.
• Virtual Classroom Applications: Creation of interactive and instructional systems that enable remote education.
• Examination Systems and Assessment: Development of digital examination systems and automated assessment tools.

• Student Performance Analysis and Feedback: Software solutions that analyze student progress and provide feedback to educators.
• Attendance and Engagement Monitoring: Design of systems that track student participation and interaction levels in classes.

• Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality (VR/AR/MR): Reality technologies that support experiential learning in education.
• Blockchain Technology: Systems that ensure the security and transparency of educational data.
• 5G and High-Speed Internet: Digital educational tools enabled by low latency and rapid data transfer.

Participants from Türkiye and abroad who are currently enrolled in high school (including open high school), undergraduate (associate, bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral) and graduate students, as well as alumni, may enter the competition. Alumni may apply individually or as part of a team representing a company or startup.

Participants are permitted to submit the same project to only one competition or category. Projects previously submitted in earlier years may be re-entered only if they have been significantly improved or transformed. Duplicate or substantially identical projects will be disqualified. For high school graduates to be eligible, less than three years must have passed since their graduation. Students must submit proof of enrollment; advisors must provide an officially approved document. Applications are submitted online via the www.t3kys.com portal.

The competition evaluation process consists of three stages: Project Preliminary Evaluation Form, Project Presentation (Semi-Final), and Final Presentation Scoring.

The report templates required from participants are announced on the official TEKNOFEST website. Evaluation criteria include originality, feasibility, technical competence, benefit and social impact.

All procedures and communications during the competition are conducted through the team’s designated communication representative via the Registration and Management System (RMS). The team captain and/or advisor is responsible for all stages of the process (application, report submission, appeals, etc.). Team member changes may be made up until the final submission deadline for the online presentation. Travel and accommodation support is provided to a limited number of individuals (maximum 3 people including advisors) from teams advancing to the final.

The TEKNOFEST Education Technologies Competition aims to transform the education system through a vision centered on both individual and societal development. By connecting technological innovation with education, the competition equips participants with problem-solving, teamwork and innovation skills, while simultaneously contributing to Türkiye’s digital educational infrastructure and the National Technology Initiative.
