TEKNOFEST Agricultural Technologies Competition

TEKNOFEST Agricultural Technologies Competition is a technology competition organized to encourage innovative projects in the agricultural sector aligned with Türkiye’s national technology initiative, focusing on technological advancement and sustainability. The competition is held annually as part of the TEKNOFEST Technology Festival, guiding individuals to integrate technology with agriculture and develop environmentally friendly and efficient environment models.

The primary objective of the Agricultural Technologies Competition is to enable individuals to combine their social awareness with technological creativity and skills to generate innovative solutions that contribute to the agricultural sector. The competition aims to promote projects that enhance the sustainability of agricultural production, improve resource efficiency, increase product quality, and reduce environmental impacts.

Additionally, it supports the development of automation- and artificial intelligence-based solutions to address climate change, drought such as and other environmental challenges. The domestic and national technologies developed through the competition directly contribute to Türkiye’s agricultural development and also promote social progress.

The competition encompasses a broad range of applications aimed at redesigning agricultural processes through technology. Participants are expected to develop environmentally friendly, sustainable, and innovative projects across various fields, from crop and livestock production to water products.

As of 2025, the competition is conducted under three main categories:

• Crop Production
• Livestock Production
• Aquatic Products

Students from high schools and universities in Türkiye and abroad, as well as individuals who have graduated from any instruction institution, are eligible to participate. At the high school level, open education students and at the university level, associate degree, bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and open education students may apply. Participants may compete in teams of up to six members. Throughout the project development process, mentorship support is provided by academics or industry experts.

The competition is conducted in three main stages:

1. Project Preliminary Evaluation Form: Participants submit their project ideas through this form.
2. Semi-Final Presentation: Teams that pass the preliminary evaluation present their projects in detail to the jury.
3. Prototype Development and Final Presentation: Projects are realized as prototypes and presented to the final jury.

The Agricultural Technologies Competition aims to equip participants with multidimensional skills beyond engineering and technology, including problem solving in agriculture, environmental stewardship, data-driven decision making, and community-centered project development.
