### **Historical Development**

Throughout the 20th century, Renault was a leading car manufacturer in France. In 1999, it formed the strategic [Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance](/en/detay/nissan-9ddab/llms.txt) with Nissan and Mitsubishi, enabling global expansion. After 2021, under the “Renaulution” strategic plan, the brand focused on electric transformation, carbon-neutral production, software development, and profitability. By 2023, Renault had established a distinct structure with electric and software-focused subsidiaries (Ampere, Horse, Mobilize).

The company targets one million electric vehicle units by 2031.

### **Global Production Network and Financial Performance**

Renault sold 1,577,351 vehicles in 2024. Production occurs in France, Spain, Turkey (Oyak Renault), Romania ([Dacia](/en/detay/dacia-2b336/llms.txt)), China, and other countries.

SDV infrastructure to be integrated into Renault models from 2026

Eight new models in Asia, Turkey, and Latin America by 2027, one-third EV/PHEV

Global carbon neutrality target by 2050
