Çorbada Tuzun Olsun Derneği is a civil society organization established to develop sustainable policies addressing homelessness in Türkiye, to meet the basic humanitarian needs of homeless individuals to meet, and to facilitate their reintegration into society activity. After initially undertaking initiatives in the field of homelessness for 2.5 years, the organization officially attained association status in 2017 January. Based in Istanbul, it is one of the few organizations in Türkiye conducting work related to homelessness.

The organization distributes food in the Beyoğlu district every evening as part of its basic humanitarian efforts. Time Over time, it has expanded its humanitarian assistance to include Beşiktaş, Kadıköy, Fatih, Şişli and other districts of Istanbul Üsküdar like to reach homeless individuals. Food distribution is not viewed as the organization’s ultimate goal but rather as a means to establish communication with homeless people and support their reintegration into society.

Çorbada Tuzun Olsun Derneği aims to go beyond merely meeting the daily food needs of homeless individuals by providing access to social services, facilitating access to healthcare, and encouraging transitions out of informal living conditions through promising, long-term solutions long. Activities such as identity registration, referral to health and psychosocial support services, involvement in addiction recovery programs, and the development of housing solutions are all directed toward reintegrating homeless individuals into society.

The organization emphasizes that homelessness is not merely an individual housing issue but also a reflection of societal building failure. In this context, it focuses on rehabilitation processes to strengthen the connections between homeless individuals and the broader community. Another key dimension of its work is raising awareness about homelessness in society awareness. The organization advocates that social responsibility must be pursued consciously, stressing that such efforts should be guided not by emotional reactions alone but by scientific and sustainable policies.

In this spirit, Çorbada Tuzun Olsun Derneği collaborates with universities, the private sector, public institutions and other civil society organizations to develop new perspectives on combating homelessness. By framing homelessness not as a lack of shelter but as a consequence of inadequate social support mechanisms, it contributes to the development of public policies.

The organization operates on a volunteer-based model voluntariness. Individuals from diverse social groups, professions, educational backgrounds and world viewpoints participate in its activities to support homeless individuals. The organization asserts that volunteering is not merely about offering aid but also serves as a tool for fostering social awareness creation and collective responsibility responsibility.

Çorbada Tuzun Olsun Derneği implements various projects to enable individuals and institutions to contribute to efforts against homelessness and to encourage public participation.
