Although the airport is geographically situated on French territory, it is administratively co-managed by both France and Switzerland. The airport’s governing board also includes members from Germany. This complex administrative structure makes the airport a significant example of international cooperation. EuroAirport consists of two separate sections catering to both French and Swiss passengers, each equipped with its own customs control. This arrangement allows passengers to travel between these two areas without undergoing additional customs inspections.

EuroAirport serves approximately four million passengers annually and plays a crucial role in Europe’s short- and medium-haul flight network. The airport spans [an](/en/detay/an-2/llms.txt) area of 1.4 million square meters and offers a range of services to its passengers. Features such as high-resolution ground textures, detailed markings, and realistic night lighting enhance the visual experience of the airport. Additionally, the airport provides various amenities, including shopping facilities, restaurants, and duty-free stores.

The airport functions as a bridge between Switzerland’s [Basel](/en/detay/paris-5/llms.txt), France’s Mulhouse, and Germany’s [Freiburg](/en/detay/edinburgh-6df8b/llms.txt). Located only 6 km from Basel, it serves as a vital transportation hub for passengers traveling from these three cities. Its convenient location allows for easy access to Basel city center and surrounding regions via public transportation.

EuroAirport is primarily used for short- and medium-haul flights but also offers services to distant destinations such as Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Dubai, Israel, and Morocco. However, long-haul flights are not operated from this airport. The airport serves as a base for low-cost carriers as well as major airlines such as Lufthansa, Air France, KLM, and [Turkish Airlines](/en/detay/turkish-airlines-thy-c3c9c/llms.txt).
