Erikli Double Waterfall
Erikli Çifte Şelale is a natural waterfall located within the boundaries of Teşvikiye Village in the Çınarcık district of Yalova. This waterfall is situated approximately 29 kilometers from the city center along the Erikli Yaylası route. The majority of the path to the waterfall is accessible by vehicle, while the final section is completed via marked hiking trails through the forest. These trails are well-signposted and suitable for nature walking.
Structure of the Waterfall
As its name suggests, Erikli Çifte Şelale consists of two tiers. In the upper section, water cascades down a steep rocky cliff. It then spreads over a wider area in the lower section, forming a second waterfall. This structure allows the water to flow both vertically and horizontally. The continuous flow of water creates a moist environment around the waterfall, which supports the growth of vegetation.

Natural Environment and Biodiversity
The area surrounding the waterfall is covered by a forest of hornbeam, oak, chestnut, and linden trees. Thanks to these trees, the region remains green throughout the year and offers a cool environment during the summer months. Mosses, lichens, and small aquatic organisms can be found near the waterfall. The sounds of birds, flowing water, and rustling leaves create a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.
Spending Time in Nature
Erikli Çifte Şelale is a popular destination for nature lovers, especially on weekends. Visitors hike, take photographs, set up camps, or organize day trips. For visitor safety and environmental protection, designated walking paths, viewing points, and rest areas have been established. Warning signs remind visitors not to light fires in camping areas.

Visual Beauty
Both tiers of the waterfall are clearly visible. The white foam created by the water cascading from above and the small pools formed in the lower section give the waterfall a dynamic appearance. The landscape formed by natural rocks, vegetation, and water makes the site particularly appealing to photographers. Thanks to its shaded structure, it is also favored by those seeking relief from the summer heat.
Conservation and Awareness
Erikli Çifte Şelale is protected as a natural feature. Construction is not permitted in the region. Only carefully maintained hiking trails, directional signs, and informational panels have been installed to minimize environmental impact. This ensures the preservation of the waterfall’s natural structure while encouraging visitors to develop a greater awareness and respect for nature.
