### **Historical Development**

Dacia was established as Romania’s national car brand and initially produced Renault-licensed models. After being acquired by the Renault Group in 1999, the brand was restructured within the low-cost car segment and positioned in international markets. In the 2000s, models such as Logan, [Sandero](/en/detay/dacia-3cb9d/llms.txt), and Duster reached wide customer bases; in the 2020s, the brand transitioned toward electrification with models like the [Spring EV](/en/detay/renault-duster-d65d5/llms.txt) and Bigster.

- By 2025, the brand plans to expand hybrid engine options in the Sandero and Duster models and to launch an electric Sandero by 2027.

The electrification process aims to adapt Dacia to energy transition while maintaining its cost-performance priorities.

### **Global Production Network and Financial Performance**

Dacia conducts most of its production at the Mioveni plant in Romania. As of 2024:

- Total vehicle sales reached 676,340 units (2.7% year-on-year increase).

- Transaction volume at year-end 2024 was approximately 28 billion RON.

- Duster: 215,024 units, maintaining leadership in the SUV segment.
- Jogger: 96,440 units, significant sales in the C-segment.
- Spring: maintained sales even with reduced public incentives, remaining competitive in its segment.

### **Strategic Goals and Future Vision**

Dacia aims to integrate low-cost production with sustainable mobility, strengthening the entry-level electric vehicle segment in Europe.

- The Bigster model expands the portfolio into the C-SUV segment.
- With the hybrid Sandero, electric Sandero, and new Spring versions, the brand plans to accelerate the BEV transition and increase its electric vehicle market share by 2030.
