## Article Content

[Çobançeşme](/en/detay/cobancesme-mahallesi/llms.txt) is a neighborhood in the [Bahçelievler](/en/detay/bahcelievler-ilce/llms.txt) district of Istanbul, Turkey. The neighborhood derives its name from the historic **Çoban Fountain** located in the area.

#### **Historical Structures**

Çobançeşme Neighborhood is home to significant historical landmarks that are part of Istanbul's cultural heritage:

- **Çobançeşme Bridge**: This historic bridge, located at the Atatürk Airport junction on Londra Asfaltı, is an important structure from the Byzantine period. It has six arches and is 38 meters long, built from hewn stones. Originally constructed over the Ayamama River, the bridge now stands over a dried-up riverbed.
- **Çoban Fountain**: This historic fountain is located next to the bridge and serves as the origin of the neighborhood’s name.
