Pancar Motor is a longstanding institution that played a significant role in Türkiye’s industrialization history, particularly in meeting the agricultural sector’s engine demands. As a continuation of Gümüş Motor, one of the first domestic engine production initiatives of the Republican era, this factory has long been one of the primary suppliers of diesel engines used in Türkiye’s agricultural and small-scale industrial production.

The foundations of Pancar Motor were laid in 1956 with the establishment of Gümüş Motor, Türkiye’s first engine factory. This initiative was launched to support the country’s most pressing needs at the time: the domestic production of motorized agricultural equipment and industrial machinery. Originally established to meet the engine requirements of sugar beet producers, Gümüş Motor later continued its operations under the name Pancar Motor Sanayi A.Ş. From its inception, the company focused on producing diesel engines for the agricultural sector and also provided engine solutions for other applications such as generators and water pumps.

Throughout its production history, Pancar Motor concentrated primarily on diesel engines. Its main product range included:

• Agricultural Engines: Single and twin-cylinder diesel engines used in tractors, cultivators, and water pumps. These engines played a vital role in the mechanization of Turkish farming.
• Industrial Engines: Diesel engines of various power outputs designed for industrial applications.
• Generators: Diesel-powered generator sets for electricity production.
• Water Pumps: Motorized pump systems for agricultural irrigation and other water transfer needs.

Pancar Motor held a critical position for many years in meeting the engine demands of Turkish agriculture and industry through its domestic production capabilities.
