It focuses specifically on identifying the cognitive components of anxiety. Its primary purpose is to provide a concrete score for measuring anxiety levels in a psychiatric patient sample. Initial translation studies were conducted by Nesrin H. Şahin (1992), and initial validity and reliability studies were conducted by Mustafa Ulusoy (1993) in a Turkish psychiatric patient sample.
