### **Location and Architectural Features**

The bridge is a small-scale structure built over the [Devrekani River](/en/detay/devrekani-district-6750d/llms.txt), designed to allow pedestrian passage. Although there is no definitive information about the materials used or the construction technique, it is believed to be an example of traditional stone masonry. Over time, the structure deteriorated but was restored by the [Azdavay Municipality](/en/detay/azdavay-ilce-e6269/llms.txt), bringing it back to its present condition.

### **Historical and Cultural Significance**

The historical importance of the bridge is based on a legend told among the locals. According to the story, about one and a half centuries ago, two young lovers whose families did not approve of their marriage decided to meet on this bridge over the Devrekani River. They held hands and intended to commit suicide together. When their families and local people learned of this, they persuaded the couple to abandon their plan and eventually approved their marriage. After this event, the bridge began to be called the "Lovers' Bridge."

Over time, the bridge has become not only a crossing point but also a romantic meeting place for locals, a symbolic spot for marriage proposals. Frequently visited by young lovers in the region, the bridge has also become a notable center for wedding photography and tourism.
