The Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar Literature Museum Library was opened on [November](/en/detay/november/llms.txt) 12, 2011, serving as a significant center where urban culture and literature converge. The library houses more than 9,000 books and works by over 1,000 authors. The library's collection consists of urban books, works by regional authors, books on theory and aesthetics, award-winning Turkish and Nobel literature, books within the TEDA project, and facsimiles. The 9,000 books in the collection are registered in the KOHA Library Automation System, allowing readers to access these works within the library. The Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar Literature Museum Library operates within the historic [Alay Köşkü](/en/detay/alay-kosku-2/llms.txt). Built as part of the Sur-ı Sultani walls during the reign of [Sultan](/en/detay/sultan-2/llms.txt) [Mehmed II](/en/detay/mehmed-ii/llms.txt), the pavilion was rebuilt in the 19th century with Western European architectural influences. During the Ottoman period, Alay Köşkü was used by sultans to watch ceremonial processions, and over time, it became a venue for celebrations, births, and wedding ceremonies. In 1855, the building was allocated to the [Telegraph](/en/detay/telegraph/llms.txt) Administration and later hosted artistic and literary events in the 20th century. In 1938, it was annexed to the Topkapı Palace and now functions as a literary center.
