1. A person capable of carrying out intelligence and operational activities provided that they are in a targeted, effective, or guiding position. 
2. A person who acts on behalf of an individual, organization, or state; a representative.

### **Origin**

The word "[agent](/en/detay/ajan-sozluk/llms.txt)" [has](/en/detay/has-3/llms.txt) been borrowed into Turkish from the French word "agent." In French, "agent" is derived from the Latin word "agens" (meaning doer, mover). The Latin "agens" comes from the verb "agere" (to act, to do).
